Using the Subs Module

The Subs module in Screendragon allows users to create and manage sub-projects associated with a main project. This feature is ideal for breaking down large projects into smaller, manageable units while maintaining visibility and control across all workstreams.

Overview

Sub-projects function similarly to main projects and can be accessed within the Subs module. All view options and search capabilities available in the main project screen are also available for sub-projects, providing a consistent user experience.

Key Features

Create New Sub

To create a new sub-project:

1. Navigate to the Subs module from within the main project.

2. Click the Create New Sub button.

3. Follow the same steps as creating a main project, including selecting a template, assigning a name, and configuring initial details. 

Note: Sub-projects inherit structural and workflow settings from the main project template, where applicable.

Export to Excel

You can export your sub-project list for offline analysis or sharing.

To export:

1. Click the Export to Excel button at the top of the screen.

2. This action generates and downloads an Excel file containing the currently displayed list of sub-projects, including key project details.

Show My Drafts

View all sub-project drafts you've created by using this feature.

To access your drafts:

1. Navigate to the Filter icon.

2. Click the Show My Drafts button.

3. The screen will update to show only your draft sub-projects — projects that have been created but not yet finalized or published.

Tip: This is useful for reviewing in-progress work before submitting or launching the sub-project.

Additional Notes

• Sub-projects can be assigned to different users, tracked independently, and follow their own workflows while still being linked to the main project.

• Permissions for viewing and editing sub-projects are inherited from the main project unless otherwise specified.
