Using Export Reports

Modified on Tue, 7 Oct at 3:54 PM

Export Reports in Screendragon provide valuable financial insights into project performance, resource utilization, and timesheet activity. The Export Reports function as a specialized version of the Custom Report Builder, but it operates differently from standard reports. Unlike reports built through the Report Builder, which appear in the report list, Export Reports are accessed through their own dedicated button. This separation exists because Export Reports were designed and implemented differently from the standard reporting framework.

Use Export Reports when you need financial reports that aggregate time, user activity, estimates, and actuals for financial tracking and reconciliation.

Accessing Export Reports

  1. From the main menu, select Reports.
  2. Click Export Reports.
  3. Select a report from the Title list and click to open the report you want. These are built in reports that can be accessed at any time if you have the appropriate permissions
  4. Apply any required filters (e.g., date range, project, or resource) to refine the results before export.
  5. Click Run.
  6. The report is sent to the processing queue, and when it is ready, a notification is sent to your email once it is complete.
You can also check the Report Queue to see the status of the report.
  7. After your report is generated, you’ll receive an Excel version by email. Use it to explore the data, gain insights, and make informed decisions.
