Creating a project brief in Screendragon is essential in effectively managing your project from inception to completion. This versatile platform enables you to outline project objectives, define workflows, and track tasks seamlessly throughout the project lifecycle. With Screendragon, you can ensure all team members are aligned with the project goals, deadlines, and responsibilities, fostering collaboration and enhancing productivity. This guide will walk you through crafting a comprehensive project brief, setting the foundation for successful project execution and management.

Let’s get started!

  1. From the main menu, navigate to the Projects tab.

  2. Click Create New Project.
  3. Input the details for the project brief. Remember that every project or brief can be tailored to incorporate information specific to your organization's needs.

  4. Templates can also be created to help you fill in information so you do not have to duplicate details each time. This is configured in the admin tools area and is permission-based. A Project template defines a project's modules, phases, and permissions.

Tips

The following are examples of how you can leverage project briefs in Screendragon.

Enter details in the fields based on your own organization's requirements.

  1. Be Descriptive: Include the main focus or objective of the project.
  2. Keep It Short: Aim for concise names and descriptions that are easy to remember.
  3. Make It Unique: Avoid generic names that could apply to multiple projects.
  4. Consider Your Audience: Consider who will be involved and how the name will resonate with them.

Project Tabs

Project Tabs allow the user to enter project details. These details are configurable to suit your needs. The following are example fields that might or might not be what you see when you complete your brief.

  • The Project Name indicates the name by which the project can be identified.

  • The Project Number indicates the number from which the project can be identified. This number can be configured to increment or be manually added automatically.

  • The Project Description allows for a brief description of the project.
  • The start date and end date allow for the project to be visible.

  • The Status defines the project's current status, e.g., Completed, Active, On Hold.

  • Color code allows the user to create a color code for the Project or Project types.

  • The symbol allows the user to have a symbol associated with the project.

  • Notifying users allows an email notification to be sent at the end of project creation.

Product Documentation for Brief Details

The Brief Details or Product Details tab provides comprehensive information regarding the product type, brand specifics, and the next steps in the product lifecycle. This section is fully customizable within the template to meet specific needs.

Some instances might include a Team tab, which assigns access rights to a user associated with the product. Access rights can consist of options such as View, Edit, or Admin.

View Access: Users with this permission can view all content related to the product.

Edit Access: Users granted this permission can view and modify all content.

Admin Access: Admin users can view and edit all content and manage product details and the associated team.

These access rights can be adjusted at any phase of the product lifecycle to accommodate changes in team member involvement or access requirements.
