Dates Tab Overview
TABLE OF CONTENTS
The Dates tab in the Workflow Builder allows administrators to define how dates are managed and displayed within a workflow. These settings control whether specific dates are captured automatically or prompted for by the user as the workflow progresses.
Using date controls helps maintain accurate project tracking, automate scheduling, and align workflow timing with related form data.
Request Date
The Request Date option determines whether a date is automatically assigned when the workflow is created or edited.
Off: No request date is captured when creating or editing the workflow.
On: Automatically records the date when the workflow is created or modified. This can be used for reporting or tracking workflow initiation times.
Prompt Date
The Prompt Date setting determines whether users are prompted to enter or confirm a date when the workflow reaches this step.
Off: The workflow proceeds without prompting the user to input a date.
On: Displays a date prompt when the workflow reaches this step, allowing users to manually select or confirm the relevant date (e.g., approval date, delivery date, completion date).
Link Date to Form Field
The Link the date for this step to the date entered in a form option allows administrators to synchronize workflow step dates with dates collected within a form.
When enabled, the system automatically uses the date entered in the associated form field rather than requiring manual entry.
This ensures consistency between the workflow timeline and the form data, reducing the risk of discrepancies in project schedules.
Use Case
Administrators can use the Dates Tab to:
Track when workflows are initiated, approved, or completed.
Prompt users for milestone dates during key workflow transitions.
Ensure date alignment between workflow steps and project or form data fields.
