Multiple Routes Tab Overview
The Multiple Routes tab in the Workflow Builder allows administrators to configure alternative workflow paths that can be triggered under specific conditions. This functionality is beneficial for complex approval processes or workflows where the next step depends on user actions or form data.
Multiple routes make workflows more dynamic by enabling different outcomes from a single action based on mapped rules or conditional logic.
Mapped Routes
Mapped Routes define how the workflow progresses based on either the form’s status or a specific form value.
Mapped routes enable flexible, data-driven routing logic, allowing workflows to automatically adapt to user input or form conditions.
Based on Form Status: Routes are triggered when a form reaches a defined status (e.g., Submitted, Approved, On Hold).
Based on Form Value: Routes can also be triggered by values entered in specific form fields (e.g., Budget > 50,000, Region = EMEA).
This means that mapped routes can reflect user actions at a workflow step, rather than only what is selected within the form itself.
Mapped routing can also be used in conjunction with temporary form statuses, allowing for more granular control over how forms move between steps in dynamic or iterative approval processes.
